1. Glizzy Gobblers (4-0) +0
142-123 Win over MaKamaraka Great Again (1-3)
Going into Monday night with a much closer matchup than either of us expected, Christian easily beat the commish as the 49ers DST put up a cool 22 points. Lamar (15) and Mark Andrews (2) had their worst weeks of the season and Najee (8) didn't help much either. Dameon Pierce (27) sure did though, and Rashaad Penny (32.5) finally decided to show up. Justin Jefferson (27.5) bounced back nicely in his revenge game as well. Christian has been steamrolling his competion and is now the clear cut leader of the Melvins. He’ll try to put even more distance between himself and the pack when he takes on LiMonta in Week 5.
2. Dirty D (4-0) +0
106-81 Win over Mickey Mouse Club (2-2)
Our other undefeated squad saw a great week out of Miles Sanders (32.5) and a solid Week from Brandin Cooks (14.5). Jalen Hurts (17) was a little underwhelming by his standards and Dalvin Cook (11) was fine given his apparent injury. With Mike’s team at #8 in points scored and #11 in points against, one may speculate that some regression is coming, and the reigning champ is coming to face off in Week 5.
3. Drake’s New Favorite Team (3-1) +2
104.5-94.5 Win over Jesus At Red Rocks (1-3)
It was the usual suspects for LiMonta’s squad once again in Week 4, as Josh Allen (25) and Cooper Kupp (21.5) led the team in scoring. Both Aaron Jones (16) and Damien Harris (15.5) were good as well, which is nice because both Drake London (2) and Christian Kirk (7) were duds. The usually solid Bucs DST (-1) was no help either against the best offense in the league.
With his latest trade, LiMonta solidified some depth at RB with Henderson and Dillon now aboard and has an interesting flier in Rondale Moore. We’ll see if his new additions will be able to take down the might of Christian in Week 5.
4. How Do You Turn This On? (2-2) -1
123.5-142.5 Loss to #1 Ice Cream Fan (1-3)
It was a tough loss for John, as his 123.5 was respectable enough but just couldn’t compete with this weeks top scorer…Drew? Alright then.
The absence of David Montgomery was sorely felt, as his replacement Tony Pollard only managed a meager 0.5 points. CMC (20.5) put his injury scares to bed and Pat Mahomes (24) and Travis Kelce (19.5) did their usual thing. CeeDee Lamb (18) had a nice week and Olave (14) continues to show promise, but Stefon Diggs (8) has now had back to back meh weeks after his monster Week 2. John will look to get back over .500 with Montgomery on the Mend and Melvin Gordon possibly stepping into a full time role. He’ll matchup with his own flesh and blood this weekend.
5. Mickey Mouse Club (2-2) -1
81-106 Loss to Dirty D (4-0)
It was a rough week for the Rat Brigade as only Kyler (25), Everett (14.5) and Davante (17) were able to crack double digits. Michael Pittman (4.5) and DeVonta Smith (2.5) were more or less invisible and Cordarrelle (9) and Javonte (3.5) werent much better. Did I mention that both of them are hurt, with the latter being out for the year? I didn’t? My mistake - both Javonte and Cordarrelle Patterson are hurt.
With his RB corps torn to shreds, Andy will turn to the likes of Chase Edmonds, Rachaad White, Tyler Allgeier, and Jordan Mason to fill the void. He also ponied up big time for the next in line in Denver in Mike Boone. It wasn’t a Jeff Wilson-esque bid mind you, but if Boone can effectively take over Javonte’s role it may not be too much of a sting. He’ll square up with his little bro in Week 5 in what should be a very fun and exciting MATCHUP OF THE WEEK.
6. It’s Not About The Mooney (2-2) +0
132.5-105 Win over Burrow’s Burgers (1-3)
Did you know that Rob had the 4th most points scored in the league? I sure didn’t. This squad easily dispatched its opponent in Week 4 on the backs of Justin Herbert (25.5), Saquon (21.5) and capped by a MNF gem from Deebo (24). On the receiving end of things, things are a bit more concerning. Scary terry (2) was far from scary and player I just learned existed Mack Hollins (4.5) was unimpressive. Perhaps Darnell Mooney (11) might be finally showing something, but I wouldn’t be on the Bears offense. Rob will get a crack at the no longer winless Drew in Week 5
7. Jolly Rodgers (2-2) +1
130-80.5 Win over Keep My Phamilys Name Out Ya Mouth (1-3)
While Steve didn’t have much competition this week, he still put up his best performance of the year by far. The RB duo of Henry (26) and Jamaal (27.5) was excellent and DK Metcalf (20) looks to have some sort of chemistry with Geno Smith. If D’Andre Swift continues to miss time, it looks like Williams will be a great asset, and even Josh Jacobs (36) looks to be turning a corner. It’s not all rosy though. Kyle Pitts (2.5) has been essentially useless and Jerry Jeudy (13) hasn’t been consistent. Rodgers (18) has been fine, but is putting up closer Streaming QB numbers than what we are used to. Steve will face a spiraling Dan in Week 5.
8. Burrow’s Burgers (1-3) -1
105-132.5 Loss to It’s Not About The Mooney (2-2)
After an encouraging Week 3 it was back to the L column for this squad in Week 4. Burrow (22.5), Chubb (21.5) and the Eagles DST (17) were a nice trio, but everyone else on this roster was barely a difference maker. Jonathan Taylor (4.5) has had 3 straight down weeks and is dropping out of RB1 territory while Curtis Samuel (5) is getting a taste of the Carson Wentz experience. With the top of this division very strong, a lot of things will have to break right for this team, especially as he takes on the undefeated Mike in Week 5.
9. #1 Ice Cream Fan (1-3) +3
142.5-123.5 Win over How Do You Turn This On? (2-2)
I think all of these team name changes are a little superfluous, wouldn’t you agree?
Drew got the monkey off his back in Week 4 and wow did he do it in style. Our Week 4 top scorer cruised into a W with great performances from Ekeler (32), Higgins (25.5), and Tyreek (23.5). Breece Hall (15) and Zach Ertz (13) weren’t half bad either. With Dak Prescott on the verge of returning, Drew will also be able to sit the inconsistent Derek Carr (13) and hopefully improve on the season. It’s going to be a long climb out of a 1-3 start, but I think Drew and Matt are basically aiming for “no dress” at this point. Quick question - if Drew comes in last does that mean both of them have to wear dresses? I’ll let the people decide. I love democracy.
10. MaKamaraka Great Again (1-3) +0
123-142 Loss to Glizzy Gobblers (4-0)
The most noteworthy thing that has happened in my life occurred this weekend. That’s right, I am talking about Alvin Kamara being ruled out only moments before a 9:30am start while yours truly was locked in battle with one of the worst case of the shakes he’s had in years. Kamara’s absence ended up making no difference, but it still kinda sucked.
TJ Hockenson delivered big time (37.5) and noted sandwich peddler Russell Wilson (26.5) actually did something good. Let’s Ride?
My other RBs weren’t much to write home about. James Robinson (2) struggled and Khalil (10.5) was okay but didn’t deliver on his huge Week 3 promise. It was overall a solid week for the squad, but at 10th in points and a 1-3 record, let’s get real here - it ain’t happening. Look for your boi to start the firesale sooner than later. At least I get to play Frank this week. I would appreciate it if people would stop trading with him for a few days.
11. Jesus At Red Rocks (1-3) +0
94.5-104.5 Loss to Drake’s New Favorite Team (3-1)
With the tough 10 point loss to LiMonta, Dan has now dropped 2 matchups in a row and is narrowly avoiding the least points scored in the league. Matt Stafford (9) has been a major letdown and Amari Cooper (0.5) disappeared after a big Week 3.
The Joe Mixon (17) Jeff Wilson (14) combo did a nice job and WR16 Mike Williams (18) broke 100yds for the 2nd time this season. It’s also encouraging to see JK Dobbins (21) get up to speed after starting the year hurt. Dan also invested his last $10 dollars in Jared Goff hoping to cash in on the QB’s surprisingly hot start. It’s a very tightly projected matchup against Steve in Week 5, and Dan will have to hope for the best if we wants to stay out of the Melvin cellar.
12. Keep My Phamilys Name Out Ya Mouth (1-3) -3
80.5-130 Loss to Jolly Rodgers (2-2)
Speaking of the cellar, Frank suffered a 3rd straight week of QB injury this week, as Tua only managed 2 points before getting his vertebrae ground into dust. More Like Two-A am i rite?
It wasn’t all Tua’s crumbly spine’s fault though. Aside from Mike Evans (28.5) this squad was fine but mostly uninspired. AJ Brown (11.5) and Ja’Marr (10) didn’t scare anyone and George Kittle (3) still has not been able to get anything going. With D’Andre Swift still on the mend, he may have to lean on Rhamondre Stevenson (11) and Aj Dillon (9.5) yet again. He also swung a trade to bring old Tommy Touchdown into the fold. What a story it would be if Tommy the Tank Engine could face his old master and hand him a beatdown. We’ll see if Frank can pull it off when he squares up with me this week.
