1. Drake’s New Favorite Team (5-2) +0
122-121.5 Win over Dying On This Tannehill (3-4)
How does this motherfucker keep getting away with this? Once again, LiMonta watched as Monday night brought him another gift wrapped 0.5 point victory, this time in large part to the ineptitude of Geno Smith. That makes it 4 straight wins for this team.
With Josh Allen on bye, the reigning champ leaned on Matt Ryan (27) and Cooper Kupp (37), along with another solid performance from Leonard Fournette (16). With Josh Allen back in the fold, it’s full speed ahead for this squad as they take on Andy in Week 8.
2. The DK Crew (4-3) +1
138-102 Win over Ha Gayyyyyyyyy (3-4)
Olc is the holder of a nice win streak of his own, taking home his 3rd straight W in Week 7 over Christian. Joe Burrow (41) had a monster game filling in for the injured Russell, while Damien Harris (29), Jonathan Taylor (21.5) and DK Metcalf (19) all pitched in as well.
The other 5 players on this roster totalled only 27.5, which is a cause for concern, but it was still more than enough from the stars in Week 7 to secure a victory. Olc will have Dalvin Cook back from bye in a Week 8 matchup with Dan who will be without Lamar Jackson.
3. 12 Years A Colluder (5-2) -1
129-125.5 Win over Superfluous Simps SS (3-4)
Ladies and gentlemen, your 2021 ChodeBowl Victor.
Dan avoided a Monday Night Meltdown from the Saints D/ST (10) who needed 7 points in order to win him the day. The trio of Lamar (24), Elijah Mitchell (22), and Khalil Herbert (21.5) were all excellent, and Dallas Goedert (10.5) and Jaylen Waddle (11.5) weren’t half bad either.
Like the rest of the top 3, Dan is on a 3 game winning streak of his own, and he’ll need to keep the magic going in Week 8 when he takes on Olc without the help of Lamar Jackson. He may have his centimeters back, but will it grant him the strength to emerge victorious for a 4th straight week?
4. Getting Higgy With It (5-2) +1
147.5-134 Win Over MaKamaraka Great Again (4-3)
Naturally, without his top 2 running backs Rob decided it was time to drop a near 150-burger on the commish.
Bonuses galore helped Rob to his 5th victory of the year, who steadied the helm after 2 straight defeats. Kyler Murray (26), Terry McClaurin (29.5) and Deebo Samuel (22.5) all lead the charge and Mike Gesicki (17.5) has quietly become a top-5 TE. Even without CMC and Carson, this team has shown the ability to put up a ton of points, despite the low total of 824 (118/game) on the season. He’ll get a shot at his 6th win when he tangles with Christian this week.
5. Ruggs Munchers (4-3) +1
81.5-66.5 Win over Dirty D (2-5)
When you score the 2nd least amount of points in a week, it really is convenient that you get to play the guy who scored the actual least amount of points in that week. Must be fuckin nice.
Steve eked out this win with only 2 of his starters exceeding 12.5 points, as Derrick Henry (16) has taken to throwing TDs and The Bucs D/ST (18) went to town on the hapless Bears. With Ruggs and Jacobs going into their bye, and a possible injury designation for Mahomes, Steve will need to do a lot better than 80 points when he takes on John in Week 8.
6. MaKamaraka Great Again (4-3) -2
134-147.5 Loss to Getting Higgy With It (5-2)
If there’s anything I can truly appreciate it is the failure to capitalize on a golden opportunity. Facing Rob with no CMC or Carson, your dear leader went into battle sans Justin Jefferson but still decisively projected to win. Tom Brady (26), D’Andre Swift (27), and Marquise Brown (16.5) fought valiantly, and despite a Herculean effort from Alvin Kamara (35) on Monday night, it was still not enough to surmount their opponent. After a brief 2 week affair in 1st place, ya boi is now 3rd in the Melvins and 5th overall. The magic font of the Kermit Summoning Circle seems to be drying up.
I’ll be swapping out Marquise Brown for JJ in Week 8 when I take on Mike, who is getting back 2 studs of his own in Keenan Allen and Adam Thielen.
7. Mickey Mouse Club (3-4) +2
135.5-103 Win over Calico Cut Lance (1-5)
All you needed to stop the skid was to face Frank. The medicine that cures all ills.
Andy saw some nice weeks out of the Rodg (25), Chris Godwin (26) and Michael Pittman (23) as well as some solid showings from James Conner (13) and Cordarrelle Patterson (14). Tyreek Hill (8.5) landed on the bust side again, making this week his 3rd single digit performance of the season. If Mahomes misses any time, it could be bad news for Reek.
He’ll take on the red hot LiMonta in Week 8 without the services of Darren Waller.
8. Superfluous Simps SS (3-4) -1
125.5-129 Loss to 12 Years A Colluder (5-2)
After relinquishing the trophy 2 seasons ago, Drew now has to give up the one thing he had left, his manhood.
Drew fell just short of a ChodeBowl victory this week, despite some strong performances from Matt Stafford (34), Mike Evans (28), and some decent showings from Devonta Freeman (10.5), Kenyan Drake (15.5) and Robert Woods (12). Even with Zeke back, Drew is dealing with a ton of Bye weeks and will have some serious question marks at his RB2 and Flex positions. The good news though? He gets to take on Frank who is desperately trying to creep closer to clinching a dress.
9. Ha Gayyyyyyyyy (3-4) -1
102-138 Loss to The DK Crew (4-3)
With Dak, Herbert, CeeDee, and Sanders all on Bye, it was going to be a tough assignment for Christian regardless. Following a D’Ernerst Johnson (30) breakout on Thursday though, anything seemed possible. Derek Carr (26) filled in nicely and Michael Carter (12) did what he could given the football team that employs him.
But it wasn’t enough. The rest of the roster outside of DJ Moore (10) all put up single digits, and Miles Sanders (3.5) left the game on a cart. Allen Robinson (2) continued to torpedo his free agent possibilities as well, but he isn’t the only one to blame as his QB has looked completely outmatched in the NFL. We’ll see if Christian can succeed where I failed as he squares off with Rob in week 8.
10. Dying On This Tannehill (3-4) +0
121.5-122 Loss to Drake’s New Favorite Team (5-2)
This one was tough to watch. Down only 2.5 points going into MNF, John only needed a measly 3 points out of Tyler Lockett in order to lock down a victory. Geno Smith and the Seahawks had other plans though. Lockett brought in 2 catches for 12 yards and it was curtains for the fightin’ Tannehills. What’s worse is that LiMonta was able to secure another BS .5 point victory. Nobody likes that.
The shining gem of this team Ja’Marr Chase (38) continues his insane rookie season while Ryan Tannehill (20) was serviceable against the Chiefs. Myles Gaskin (16) continued his up and down season, and Davante Adams (16) once again showed his high floor. Unfortunately it was revealed yesterday that Adams has been placed on the Covid list, putting his availability for Thursday night in severe jeopardy.
Hopefully Chase can continue to carry the load for this squad in Week 8 when John takes on a bye week-stricken Steve.
11. Dirty D (2-5) +0
66.5-81.5 Loss to Ruggs Munchers (4-3)
Without his top 2 wideouts, Mike was already slated for a major challenge in Week 7. But what occurred was a borderline natural disaster. Jalen Hurts (25) continues his anomalous “terrible NFL QB but incredible fantasy QB” season and Robert Tonyan (14) and Graham Gano (15) were both net positives. But the other 6 starters on this team combined for 18.5 points (3/player) with an unsightly -6 points from the Ravens D/ST. Somehow, this wasn’t even the lowest point total of the year, since Rob put up a shiny 66 points back in Week5.
Mike has now lost 4 straight, and he’ll look to right the ship in the coming week against the commish.
12. Calico Cut Lance (1-6) +0
103-135.5 Loss to Mickey Mouse Club (3-4)
In what has become basically a lost season for Frank, nothing seems to break right for him. Sam Darnold (3) may have played his last game in Carolina and newly acquired Chuba Hubbard (7) was unable to produce against a soft Giants defense. Javonte Williams (14) has been having an encouraging rookie year and both Kyle Pitts (24.5) and AJ Brown (28) are establishing themselves after slow starts.
But at this point, it’s probably too little too late in order to compete this year. Frank still has some valuable assets, and will likely try his hardest to turn those into long-term games before the December 1st trade deadline. Until then, might as well start scouting out the local thrift stores.
