1. Getting Higgy With It (3-0) +0
107-94 Win over Mickey Mouse Club (1-2)
Rob’s weekend did not get off to a good start after losing both Christian McCaffery (hamstring) and his dignity (hot tub) to injury, but by Sunday our undefeated league leader was all smiles. Kyler Murray (24) had his worst week yet but was still quite effective, while Chris Carson (16) continues to be a very reliable RB2. Rob also finally got more than a pittance out of the TE position, where Mike Gesicki (13) ate up 12 targets. He’ll be going for 4-0 against John who is coming off a stinging loss to the Simp Squad.
2. Ha Gayyyyyyyyy (2-1) +7
127.5-98 Win over Calico Cut Lance (1-2)
Christian finally got his breakout 4 TD week from Justin Herbert (32) as the Chargers upset the Chiefs. The duo of Antonio Gibson (20.5) and DJ Moore (21) were also highly effective while Tyler Higbee (12.5) finally managed to pry a TD away from Cooper Kupp. CeeDee Lamb (7.5) has continued to slow down since his excellent Week 1, and that’s quite concerning given the fact that Allen Robinson (3) and the Bears as a whole have been a major disaster on offense. This squad will continue to battle for Melvin Supremacy in Week 4 against LiMonta.
3. MaKamaraka Great Again (2-1) +3
148.5-124 Win over Drake’s New Favorite Team (1-2)
Ya boi had quite a Sunday, narrowly missing out on the most Week 3 points to...Drew? That can’t be right.
Once again led by the heroics of QB1 Tom Brady (39), this squad saw excellent weeks out of Justin Jefferson (26.5), Mike Evans (19), and Alvin Kamara (19.5). I guess this was as good a week as ever for TJ Hockenson (2) to fall flat, and Robert Woods (4.5) has officially entered concerning territory, as my 2nd round pick is currently the WR55. With a team that came out of the draft with supposed WR depth, the failures of Woods, Mooney, and Gage have all been magnified. Yours truly squares up with Murph in the battle of who had the more embarrassing scooter wipe out.
4. Dirty D (2-1) +1
117-102.5 Win over The DK Crew (1-2)
Our resident bookie had himself a Monday Night Miracle in Week 3, with Jalen Hurts (27) coming thru in the clutch and sealing the W over Olc. Mike saw a lot of good but not great performances across the board, with Aaron Jones (17), Thielen (14), Allen (15), and Kittle (12.5) all pitching in. With Darrell Henderson (DNP) still questionable, Mike will have an interesting matchup with Drew coming off a massive win.
5. Mickey Mouse Club (1-2) -3
94-107 Loss to Getting Higgy With It (3-0)
Andy’s team has been incredibly consistent for a long time, scoring 100 points or more between Week 7 of last year and Week 1 of 2021. (He lost to me last year in Week 6, lmao).
But the last 2 weeks have been a different story, where Andy has barely been able to average over 90 points. Most notably, Tyreek Hill (6.5) had a 2nd straight down week and David Montgomery (7) hasn’t been able to match that Week 1 magic. Even the seemingly matchup-proof Darren Waller (7.5) hasn’t mustered double digits in the last 2 games. Andy will get Olc in Week 4 who is trying to avoid a 3rd straight loss.
6. 12 Years a Colluder (2-1) +5
121-110.5 Win over Ruggs Munchers (1-2)
In a week where Dan only managed to get 9 total points out of his two big name wideouts in DeAndre and Julio, 1-2 combo of Najee Harris (27) and Mike Williams (34.5) were major difference makers in the win over Steve. Harris was especially impressive, tallying 14 catches for 102 yards - an absolutely absurd amount of catches for a RB. With Elijah Mitchell (DNP) possibly back from his injury suffered in Week 2, Dan and I will be hate-watching the 49ers game to see which RB comes out on top. My early bet is that it will be neither.
7. Dying On This Tannehill (1-2) -4
144-153 Loss to Superfluous Simps SS (1-2)
Of all the times to lose while putting up 144, this has got to be one of the more painful ones. John saw a few strong performances in Week 3, as Davante (30) Ja’Marr Chase (20), and Austin Ekeler (20) were all quite good. Even Kelce (18.5) still managed to have a great TE performance despite not finding the end zone.
But it simply wasn’t meant to be. This team was simply no match for the juggernaut that is the Simps. John is now 1-2 despite having the most points in the league so far - a far from enviable position. He may have a stroke of good fortune in Week 4 however, as his matchup with a CMC-less Rob looks pretty appealing.
8. Ruggs Munchers (1-2) -4
110.5-112 Loss to 12 Years a Colluder (2-1)
In one of the more confusing box scores I’ve read in a while, Steve’s team was paced not by Patrick Mahomes, or Derrick Henry, or even Stefon Diggs. No, that honor went to Raiders’ 2nd-stringer Peyton Barber (28.5) who rushed for over 100 yds and a TD. That’s not to say that Mahomes (24) or Henry (24.5) did poorly, but outside of a lucky touchdown from Mecole Hardman (10.5) this squad had a rough week. Lucky for Steve, though, he has a date with Frank in Week 4 and that could be just what he needs to even out his record.
9. Drake’s New Favorite Team (1-2) -1
124-148.5 Loss to MaKamaraka Great Again (2-1)
Week 3 was looking like a breeze for LiMonta early on, with Sleepy Clyde (21) having his only actual good week so far against me, and Josh Allen (44) absolutely dicking on the Football Team. Oh yeah and of course Cooper Kupp (25.5) keeping up his ridiculous pace was another plus for this team. Luckily, Tom Brady must have known I was going against Gronk (7) and Fournette (3.5) and kept the ball out of their filthy hands. LiMonta will have to find some way to play better fantasy defense in Week 4 against Christian.
10. The DK Crew (1-2) -3
102.5-117 Loss to Dirty D (2-1)
Another week, another crushing loss for Olc - and this time it was by the hands of his own team’s QB. While Jalen Hurts was mainly responsible for this week’s dream-stomping, Olc can also place a lot of blame on the shoulders of Russell Wilson (17), Jonathan Taylor (7.5), Robert Tonyan (0.5) and Damien Harris (2). Olc now finds himself narrowly out of last place in the NBPL, leading Drew by only 4 points. Week 4 doesn’t look incredibly promising when he squares off with Andy who is looking to get back in the win column.
11. Superfluous Simps SS (2-1) +1
153-144 Win over Dying On This Tannehill (1-2)
In a statement game for the ages, Drew rolled into this week winless and came out on top with the highest point total of all of us. Proud of you.
Matthew Stafford (39) touched Tompa Bay and Ezekiel Elliott (25.5) came thru in a big way on Monday night. Add that to nice weeks from Mark Andrews (17.5), D’Andre Swift (20.5) and the Saints D/ST (19) and it propelled Drew all the way up to 11th in the standings. He wasn’t kidding, this guy can lay some pipe.
Drew is definitely happy to have the monkey off his back, but he still has a long climb ahead of him. Let’s see if he can even out his record against Mike this week.
12. Calico Cut Lance (1-2) -2
98-127.5 Loss to Ha Gayyyyyyyyy (2-1)
Things just never seemed to get going for Frank in Week 3 despite some encouraging improvement from Saquon Barkley (19) and great consistency from Kirk Cousins (32). Amari Cooper (3.5) has put up only 7 points in the last 2 weeks. Kyle Pitts (4) is a rookie on a struggling offense. Calvin Ridley (10) has been underwhelming on...the same struggling offense. AJ Brown is questionable with a hamstring strain. Frank now finds himself in Sweet Aunt Mary’s Bingo Basement, and with the fewest points scored to match. It’s going to be a rough few weeks ahead, but a matchup against fellow 1-2 Melvin Steve could be just what he needs. It’s gonna be a battle for whatever the opposite of supremacy is. It’s THE MATCHUP OF THE WEEK.
107-94 Win over Mickey Mouse Club (1-2)
