1. Getting Higgy With It (2-0) +6
156-84 Win over Superfluous Simps SS (0-2)
As we all expected, our lone undefeated squad at the end of Week 2 is...Rob. I’d say I’m not surprised, but I’d be lying. Just beating out Steve for top scorer this week, Rob thoroughly trounced Drew’s team, riding excellent weeks from QB1 Kyler Murray (45), Scary Terry (26.5) and CMC (23.5). The only facet of the game this team can’t seem to pin down is tight end, where Rob has received a combined 0.5 points from Mike Gesicki and Cole Kmet. Still, it’s hard not to envy this roster’s performance as his 269 points scored is good for most in the league. Rob will face off against Andy in Week 3 in what should be a fun one to watch.
2. Mickey Mouse Club (1-1) -1
86.5-139 Loss to Dirty D (1-1)
After dominating in Week 1, Andy fell flat in Week 2 and could barely put up a fight against Mike. Aaron Rodgers (28) looks to be quelling fears of his demise after a terrible opening night, and Chris Godwin (14) was able to get in on the Bucs’ scoring party. But other than that, there really wasn’t a ton of support from the rest of the cast. Corey Davis (1) had fewer catches than the Patriots defense and Tyreek Hill (3.5) was a huge disappointment on Sunday Night. This roster still has a lot of talent though, and I can’t wait to watch him tangle with Rob for the top spot in the NBPL. It’s here, and it’s glorious. It’s the MATCHUP OF THE WEEK!
3. Dying on This Tannehill (1-1) +3
149-123 Win over The DK Crew (1-1)
After a stinging lose to his big bro in Week 1, John managed to right the ship against Olc on the backs of his excellent receivers. The trio of Lockett, Kelce, and Davante Adams combined for a hefty 83.5 points while Austin Ekeler (17.5) and Ja’Marr Chase (15) weren’t half bad either. John currently trails Andy by just 1 point this season, and a Week 3 date with Drew could be just what he needs to sneak into 1st place in the division.
4. Ruggs Munchers (1-1) +7
152-77.5 Win over Ha Gayyyyyyyyy (1-1)
Last week I mentioned that Derrick Henry would need to bounce back in order for Steve to compete - and bounce back he sure did. Henry exploded for 182 yards last week and even threw in 6 receptions for good measure, totalling 55 points, nearly enough on his own to dispatch Christian’s squad. Henry teamed up with Patty Ice (36), Diggs (14) and the Bucs’ D/ST (19) to help give Steve an excellent 152 total points. Henry Ruggs (27.5) had a great day as well on the bench, and he’ll need to keep the magic going with Jarvis Landry being placed on IR. The hits just keep coming for this team. He squares off with Dan in Week 3.
5. Dirty D (1-1) +5
139-86.5 Win over Mickey Mouse Club (1-1)
Mike had a real statement game on Sunday, taking the reigning points champ to school and winning by a sizeable 52.5 point margin. Aaron Jones (38) made his presence known with 4 total TDs on the day (3 receiving, 1 rushing) while Jalen Hurts (23) Graham Gano (22) and Darrel Henderson (15.5) were all good contributors as well. It should be noted that Henderson sustained a rib injury during the game, and his status for this week could be in jeopardy. With Mike Davis (8.5) still not hitting his stride and ceding a lot of work to something called Cordarelle Patterson, Mike could be hurting for an RB2 soon. At least he had the foresight to draft Sony Michel.
6. MaKamaraka Great Again +2
121.5-89.5 Win over Calico Cut Lance (1-1)
You all may not know this about me, but I am in love with Tom Brady. Tommy Touchdown went hog wild again this week, tossing 5 scores to bring him up to a league-leading 9 passing touchdowns and securing 31 points for me. A main beneficiary of that was Mike Evans (21.5) who caught 2 of the TDs. Justin Jefferson (15) and TJ Hockenson (16) were also solid on the receiving side.
But once again here we are and I have no running game to speak of. Alvin Kamara (4) had one of his worst games in recent memory tallying only 30 total yards. Ronald Jones (2.5) somehow convinced me to start him again and, like always, has let me down. Have fun getting benched for WFT’s 2nd stringer, you worthless rat.
7. The DK Crew -2
123-149 Loss to Dying on This Tannehill (1-1)
Despite a solid 123 points, Olc was no match for his fellow (and superior) John this week. Russell Wilson’s (35) fabulous day was basically negated as opponent Tyler Lockett had the most to gain while DK Metcalf (8) only managed 6 catches. Dalvin Cook (22) was good as usual and Robert Tonyan (12) reappeared to be relevant again. With Damien Harris (13.5) stocks rising it may be time to think about playing him over a struggling Jonathan Taylor (6.5) whose receiving work basically disappeared. He’ll get Mikey D hot off a big win in Week 3.
8. Drake’s New Favorite Team (1-1) -5
106-134 Loss to 12 Years a Colluder (1-1)
The reigning champ saw 2-0 slip through his fingers this week as Dan surprised everybody and came out on top of Matchup of the Week. Josh Allen (17) has had a rough start to 2021 and Clyde Edwards Helaire (3) looked sleepier than ever - totalling only 46 rushing yards, no receptions, and a fumble. Robby Anderson (4.5) managed 2 more targets than he did last week with 10 fewer points, while Cooper Kupp (37.5) is just dummy good right now and is right on Tyler Lockett’s tail for WR1. The champ will square off with the Commish in Week 3 and I could not be less excited for that.
9. Ha Gayyyyyyyyy (1-1) -7
77.5-152 Loss to Ruggs Munchers
After absolutely crushing yours truly last week, Christian’s squad was a disaster against Steve. Nick Chubb (16.5) is looking well worth his 1st round draft pick and Ceedee Lamb (13) is staking a claim as a top 10 WR. But no one else on this team even broke double digits. Dak (9) threw 0 TDs and a pick and Tyler Higbee disappeared from the Rams’ pass attack. In Week 3, he’ll wrastle with Frank in Week 3 who is also coming off a rough week.
10. Calico Cut Lance (1-1) -6
89.5-121.5 Loss to MaKamaraka Great Again (1-1)
It was a week were very little went right for Frank, as Kirk Cousins (29) looked good and Calvin Ridley (15.5) did his best to show that 2020 wasn’t a fluke. But other than that, this was tough to watch. Saquon Barkley (8) still looks like he is getting back to full health and Amari Cooper (3.5) suffered as the rest of the Dallas offense did. The Cooper bit would be easier to stomach if AJ Brown hasn’t been playing so poorly - including some massive drops that left him with only 3.5 points. He’ll have to do better than this if we wants to avoid a 2nd straight loss.
11. 12 Years a Colluder (1-1) +1
134-106 Win over Drake’s New Favorite Team (1-1)
Dan sure made us look stupid this week. After a disastrous preseason and Week 1, Dan came back with a fury in Week 2, toppling the reigning champ and putting up a healthy 134 points. Lamar Jackson (41) balled out against the Chiefs while Najee Hariis (16.5), Julio Jones (20) and Mike Williams (18.5) all pulled their weight. If Elijah Mitchell (7) can come back and take hold of the 49ers starting job, Dan could be well on his way to relevance again. He’ll see if he can prove it against Steve in Week 3.
12. Superfluous Simps SS (1-1) -3
84-156 Loss to Getting Higgy With It (2-0)
Drew fell short of a W yet again this week, making him the lone squad without one. Defeat was never really in doubt with the way Rob’s team was playing, but it’s still tough to see a sub-100 week. Zeke Elliott (17) looked more like himself and Tyler Boyd (10) had a decent day but aside from an 18 spot out of Matt Stafford, no one on this team could crack double digits. With Odell possibly back this week and Jarvis out, maybe he can bring some big play capability this squad desperately needs.
